Enterprise Risk Manager
The Enterprise Risk Manager will report to the Director, ERM. Under the direction of the ERM Director, this individual will manage the development and implementation of an Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) together with other risk management activities that will assist the business in its decision making process.
- Provide thought leadership and initiative to the development and execution of the ERMF under the direction of the ERM Director
- Mentor analysts in the execution of risk management processes that deliver against the ERMF
- Embed ERM practices in assigned business areas through ongoing and cross functional interaction with executive and senior leadership levels and business risk liaisons Foster partnership efforts with other areas of the Company as well as subsidiaries to ensure consistency in approach and implementation of the ERMF
- Participates in and often drives ERM efforts and discussions with the actuarial team in the quantification of risk for the Company’s Own Risk and Solvency Assessment
- Manage assigned project initiatives and provide knowledge sharing/transfer to other members of the team
- Represent IBC and ERM team at BCBSA as well as ERM industry trainings/meetings
- Monitor industry trends and developments in ERM practices, procedures, and policies and proactively make recommendations to adjust IBC’s program when necessary
- Seek opportunities to drive projects/initiatives to satisfy regulatory reporting and other requirements from rating agencies, regulatory bodies and board of directors.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have an undergraduate degree with a minimum of 9 years of related t experience. An applicable advanced degree or a risk management designation is desirable. Other requirements include:
- Ability to provide guidance and supervision to business risk liaisons by displaying subject matter expertise Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise good judgment, solve problems, think critically, multi-task, and prioritize work in a changeable environment.
- Demonstrated experience using research and analytical.
- Demonstrated communication experience to include excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Executive presence and ability to engage senior leadership
- Ability to manage time and workload, and to demonstrate flexibility.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Access.
