Network Engineer
Primary team member duties include:
· Working knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching technologies - Nexus, Catalyst, ASR, ISR platform
· Working knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching software including Cisco IOS, CatOS, and NX-OS
· Working knowledge LAN, MAN, WAN, WLAN technology
· Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocol/technologies – OSI Model, TCP, UDP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, HSRP, VRRP, IPSec, IGMP, QoS, ARP, STP, VPC, VDC, VSS, VSL, 802.1q, 802.11, UDLD, LACP, Port-Channel, VLAN, VTP, MAC, CDP, ICMP, IPv4, VoIP, WiFi, SMTP, SYSLOG, NTP, FTP/sFTP, HTTP/HTTPs, SSH, SSL, Telnet, SIP, SMTP, DHCP, DNS, Netflow, TACACS, Radius, AAA, NetFlow, etc.
· Working knowledge of Cisco Wireless Technologies and Wireless Controllers
· Working knowledge of F5 BIG-IP Load Balancing solutions including LTM
· Experience with Cisco ASA firewall
· Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSec VPN on Cisco ASA Firewalls and routers
· Experience with Cisco ACS or Cisco ISE 2.0 and above
· Experience with DNS and DHCP
· Experience with network performance monitoring tools (i.e. NetScout, Solarwind, etc.)
· Experience with network troubleshooting tools (i.e. Wireshark, NetScout Sniffer, Fluke, etc.)
· Experience with Windows, MAC OSX, and Linux operating systems
· Experience with QoS
· Perform network upgrades, testing and installing enhancements
· Support ELINE WAN and Broadband technologies
· Secure networks by developing and implementing network access controls
· Proven ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and repair network infrastructure and to escalate and/or communicate issues to management or vendors as needed
· Work with end users to resolve tickets in timely manner regarding any of the above services and technologies
· Monitor network performance, availability and utilization based on pre-defined operating criteria
· Maintain complete technical documentation
· Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
· Manage assigned projects and tasks to deliver services in accordance with established objectives
· Occasional travel
· When required working after hours and weekends
· Participate in on-call rotation
Job Requirements:
· BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field preferred
· Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP, CCNA) preferred
· 5+ years of industry-related experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator in managing large scale mission critical Cisco network infrastructure in a 24/7 environment
· Sharp troubleshooting skills
· Ability to work independently as well as across various teams
· Willing to learn and work with new technologies
· Healthcare industry experience will be plus
· Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python) will be plus
· Perform duties as assigned
