Director Sales - R National
- Directs team responsible for management and retention of National Accounts with focus on and maximizing revenue while retaining and growing market share. Team is responsible for providing consultative approach to clients based on analysis and review of account utilization and trends.
- Sets strategy and leadership for on-going account management, including renewals, settlements, proposals, benefit exceptions and customer reporting (where applicable). Responsible for overseeing development of strategic and consultative presentations for customers.
- Assesses competitive environment and directs development of sales strategies for National Segment to capitalize market opportunities and drive competitive advantage.
- Provides strategic leadership for development of initiatives and best practices.
- Fosters collaboration with internal departments and leaders to effectively establish strategies. Sets strategic initiatives and goals for segment.
- Maintains active involvement with Consortium Health Plans, Consultant HealthCare Forum and Consultant Advisory Forum.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Position requires a non-compete.
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum 10 years’ work experience in health insurance or related industry in sales/marketing, where building relationships and retaining customers is essential, including 5 years prior management experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and facilitating presentations.
- Demonstrated experience functioning in a in a high-volume, highly visible, deadline-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of health insurance funding and rating methodologies.
- Out of area travel is required for this position.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable car for extensive visits to account locations.
- Candidates must possess active PA State Accident & Health license.
- Excellent negotiation, oral, and written communication skills required.
- Strong ability to manage and motivate staff to high levels of productivity.
- Demonstrated ability to manage profitable growth, anticipate, and respond to marketplace trends.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategies that drive the business.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills as well as strong presentation skills.
- Excellent customer and consultant relationship skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with functional areas within segment.
