Vendor Management Director
The Director of the Vendor Management COE (VCOE Director) will work with Independence leadership to implement a vendor management center of excellence that helps mitigate vendor risk and drive vendor value across the organization.. The VCOE Director will also facilitate and support leading practice vendor management processes and enabling vendor management organizations throughout the enterprise. The VCOE Director will be responsible for driving better vendor management practices at Independence that will maximize the value attained from vendor relationships and ensure that both Independence and its vendors fulfill their compliance, contractual, performance and financial obligations. The position will build the Vendor Management CoE, train Independence vendor management professionals and evolve the vendor management practices for the enterprise in alignment with corporate strategy. Ultimately, this position is responsible for leveraging vendor management leading practices to enable Independence to de-risk the supplier portfolio and realize enhanced value.
- Interacts on an executive level within and outside of the IBC organization to ensure that Vendor Management tactics and activities are addressing the needs of the organizations being served, reducing vendor risk and increasing vendor value.
- Provides oversight and facilitates resolution and escalation for all financial, contractual and compliance related and escalated service performance issues relating to vendor relationships.
- Ensure that resources are in place and tactics developed and executed to achieve enterprise vendor management goals and strategies.
- Provides training oversight, consulting, and coaching for vendor management teams and may often act as the “closer” in resolving difficult vendor issues
