The Sr. Community Development Specialist will lead the identification and creation of innovative and engaging consumer experiences that advance the mission of Independence Blue Cross.   The work will be critical for the experiential and educational events and community outreach for the Marketing department.
 
The Sr. Specialist will design, create and manage strategies of engagement for the consumer audience (prospects, members and general community) and will lead the development and production of marketing campaigns that successfully engage the target audience pre and post event with the relevant programming.  This individual will be responsible to build a community outreach presence that includes both educational and experiential learning opportunities to build a network of consumer advocates.
 
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and evaluate innovative engagement strategies within the health and wellness experience and education space for year-round strategic engagement.  This includes the development and implementation of strategic plans and activities related our  priority issues
  • Lead the development of creative marketing campaigns designed to engage both consumers and key stakeholders within the 55+ community with the relevant programming
  • Build a community outreach presence that includes both educational and experiential learning opportunities to build a network of consumer advocates
  • Conduct market research and analyze competitive positioning within the market
  • Employ marketing analytics techniques to gather important data (social media, web analytics, CRM/Marketing dashboard report review, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of traditional or digital campaigns including routing for review and approval with the various stakeholders within the organization
  • Spearhead adherence to timetables and associated campaign budgets
  • Manage campaign-level dashboard reporting and tracking of key performance indicators. Identify and trends and themes.
    Maintain thorough understanding of compliance including the impact of state and federal oversight on marketing campaign tactics and messaging.  
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  BS in Marketing, Business and/or Communications strongly preferred
  • Minimum five to seven years’ experience in social impact design, corporate community relations, project management, community organizing, volunteer management or other related areas required;
  • Positive, persuasive and compassionate personality
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
  • Exquisite communication (verbal/written) and people skills
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach
  • Strong ability to lead projects in a matrix team approach.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Good knowledge of market research techniques
